Committees are made up of local leaders wanting to connect, engage, and make a difference.
Participating in committees are the best way to assist the VHEDC in carrying out its mission. Committees provide opportunities to work side by side with our business leaders in the community across multiple industries with the goal of enhancing the local business vitality. Most committees meet once a month year round. Â Event committees are active during different parts of the year depending on the event.

VHEDC Committees
The biggest benefit to being on the Workforce Action Committee is right in the title – we are a committee of action! In my first year we held 3 community roundtable discussions regarding the disconnect between available workers and many job openings in manufacturing and as skilled laborers. From those discussions we have implemented 2 of the solutions and are moving ahead on several more. The knowledge I’ve gained about so many different community resources has greatly benefited my company, especially in our efforts to find quality employees in this tight labor market. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention VHEDC Executive Director, Ling Becker’s excellent skills at connecting people and getting things done.
