This summer, Aspect Automation is celebrating its tenth anniversary … and next summer they’ll celebrate their seventieth! Although that may seem confusing, Aspect grew out of local manufacturing pioneer Remmele Engineering, founded in 1949, and remains dedicated to the same values, commitment to customers, and leading-edge technology that has been its core since the very beginning.

Aspect designs and builds custom automated manufacturing equipment at their facility on Willow Lake Boulevard. Their focus is on helping customers optimize performance, improve machine operator safety, and maximize manufacturing capacity and machine “uptime.” They like to say that they’re “solution based, performance driven, and  customer focused.” Since the machines they build are custom, each project basically starts over from the beginning, designing to the individual needs and requirements of
that one particular customer.

Aspect’s expertise runs the gamut of modern manufacturing applications, from discrete multi-part assembly to web processing and coating to the integration of multiple technologies to create a single cohesive system. Most of the systems they build incorporate robots, dispensing or material handling, vision inspection, and varying levels of environment control.

Much of Aspect’s work is for the life sciences industry — novel drug delivery
mechanisms and medical devices, in vitro diagnostic elements, and point of care testing and treatment products — but they also produce equipment for consumer and industrial applications, home construction, defense, and aerospace.

Aspect employs nearly 70 people, more than half of whom are engineers. Many of their expert machine builders and assemblers have been with the company since its Remmele days, but Aspect also prides itself in providing many opportunities on both the engineering and production side for younger people just joining the work force.

Aspect Automation sees itself as a dynamic partner to each of its customers, providing engineering solutions to help their businesses grow and thrive. Every employee is dedicated to identifying the customer’s unique needs, developing optimal solutions, and ultimately delivering high-value custom automation equipment that helps drive the customer’s success.
