Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation (VHEDC) Announces Inaugural Year of Northeast Metro Young Professionals Group
The VHEDC announced it is launching a Northeast Metro Young Professionals (NMYP) beginning in 2017. This initiative is a response to workforce development efforts to allow local businesses to offer unique experiences to employee while engaging an emerging group of future community leaders between the ages of 21 to 35 covering all industries.
Potential candidates should work and/or live in the northeast metro area, have an interest in improving the community, and desire to develop their leadership skills, increase civic involvement, and demonstrate a strong potential for achieving a position of leadership in their professional or civic life.
Program participants will meet once a month beginning in February concluding with a closing ceremony and service project in December 2017. The majority of the activities will focus on cultivating leadership and a better understanding of the local community.Program activities will include speakers, leadership development, behind the scenes local tours, community service opportunities, and the chance to make new business connections through social events. “We are thrilled to bring a cohort of young developing leaders together in the community to enhance their leadership skills while exposing them to more of the community in which they work and may live,” stated VHEDC Executive Director, Ling Becker.
Applications will be accepted on the VHEDC website through Friday, January 13, 2017. The program fee is $300 for the year and commitment from the applicant’s employer is required.
